Star Legacy’s mission is to assist you through all
phases of the funeral, cremation, and/or burial process. But what exactly
is a funeral? If you choose cremation do you still need to arrange a
funeral? And if you make ‘pre-arrangements’ what are you pre-arranging?
Allow us to explain….
If you’re like most people, the thought of funerals makes you uneasy.
That’s okay. We’ll get you through it.
Funerals force us to think about the loss of a loved one or our own
mortality … of course, we want to avoid it. But if we do, then we
burden those that survive us with agonizing choices and financial decisions,
during their time of grief, to give us the funeral they think we want.
Why put pressure on our loved ones when we can pre-plan the arrangements
in a stress-free environment: deciding what we want and securing the
financing ahead of time … delivering peace of mind to ourselves and those
who survive us.

Simply defined, a funeral is an organized ceremony or service that
acknowledges the ending of life. For many it is a solemn occasion, for
others a religious event and some find it a peaceful and enlightening
celebration. Most funerals include additional events -- perhaps a visitation or wake
prior to the formal ceremony, a celebration of a loved ones life, a procession to
a final resting place, often a gathering after that.
Sometimes an additional memorial service at a later date or in another community. All in all, a funeral is
an experience of closure.
But for all, it is an opportunity to acknowledge the death of a family
member, loved one, friend or associate, and take note of the life the person
lived and the influence on others.
